Winterberg Safaris is situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Hunting takes place all over the Eastern Cape, from the coast of the Indian Ocean to the great Karoo. The 100,000 acre free-range Kat River Conservancy is one of our main hunting areas.
The Eastern Cape boasts with over 40 game species and is probably one of the most diverse areas in the world. The area offers amazing hunting grounds - from the flat-land of the semi dessert Karoo to the mountainous Winterberg range, through open grassland to thick savanna.
Each area plays host to its own unique fauna and flora. Ranging from the tiny blue duiker, cape grysbok and bushbuck in the coastal thickets to kudu, nyala, impala, buffalo in the Kat river valley. The Winterberg mountains play host to mountain rheebuck , grey rheebuck and eland. Wildebeest, zebra and blesbuck are found on the grass plains. These plains carry through to the semi dessert Karoo, which is the habitat for springbuck and steenbuck.
Winterberg Safaris is not bound to hunting in the Eastern Cape, we also have hunting concessions in the Free State, Limpopo, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal as well as neighbouring countries such as Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, etc. This will ensure you always have something new to look forward to on your return trip.
The dedicated team of professional hunters will ensure a great hunting experience whether rifle hunting or bow hunting. All professional hunters are experienced hunters with good 4x4 vehicles and all the necessary hunting equipment.
